1970
The Church of Christ at Dale City started when the King and Stringer families began meeting at the Stringer’s home on Cloverdale Road in Dale City for midweek Bible study and Sunday worship
1971
The Dale City congregation grew to nine familes and began renting the Civic Center on Birchdale Ave for Sunday morning worship
The congregation more than doubled in size purchased a second home on Daly Lane (across from the Stringers home) and expanded to classrooms in all three houses for Sunday morning and Wednesday night Bible study classes
The congregation brought on its first full-time minister, Calvin Henry (Linda) who moved from Texas
1973
The 2-acre lot at 13130 Hilendale Avenue was purchased and construction of the new Church building began and was completed on August 1st.
1975
Del Elkins (Barbara) joined on to serve as full-time minister
1978
Gene Chumley (Joyce) joined on to served as full-time minister
1985
Joe Bilbery (Sue), Willie Gore (Lelia), Stuart King (Fran), and Dan Willis are the first four men selected to serve as deacons of the congregation
1987
Peter Burnett, Jr. (Dorothy) and John Pierson selected to serve as deacons
1989
Gene Chumley (Joyce) and Joseph Beaty, Sr. (Hazel) selected to serve as the first two elders of the congregation
1993
Mark Clardy (Sara) selected to serve as deacon
1994
Al Johnson (Laverne) selected to serve as elder
1995
The congregation begins planning for a Spanish-speaking ministry
1996
Marco Morales (Martha) and Marlon Grande (Celina) began a Spanish-speaking ministry with 10 spanish speaking members and Marlon Grande as the part-time minister – The Dale City congregation officially becomes a bi-lingual congregation
1998
Joe Price (Carole) selected to serve as elder
Hal Creech (Terry), Ken Johnson (Dianne), and Leonard Reynolds (Helen) selected to serve as deacons
2001
Al Foxx (Wanda), Rufus Flemons (Gail), Bob Shirk (Marlene), and John Canfield (Sue) selected to serve as deacons
2002
Marco Morales (Martha) selected to serve as deacon
2003
Jeff Harris (Patty) hired and served as full-time minister
2005
Mark Clardy (Sara) and Paul Nix (Margie) installed to serve as elders
Rob Wilson (Lana) selected to serve as deacon
2006
Dessain Terry (Stephanie) hired and served as full-time minister
2008
Jimmy Crawford (Kimberly) selected to serve as deacon
2009
Rufus Flemons (Gail) installed to serve as elder
2010
Goodman Bellamy (Gina), Nelson Abarca (Janet), Narciso Carrion, Jr. (Lina), and Victor Valle (Blanca) selected to serve as deacons
2012
New Church Fellowship Annex completed and outfitted with kitchen, dining, restroom, and classroom instruction facilities.
2013
Rob Wilson (Lana) installed to serve as elder
2014
Kevin Griffen (Crystal) selected to serve as deacon
Luis Pozo (Amelida) selected to serve as deacon
2016
John Canfield (Sue) installed to serve as elder
2017
Paul Correia (Roslyn) installed to serve as elder
Myron Bell (Shawn) selected to serve as deacon
2018
Alfred Foxx (Wanda) installed to serve as elder
2020
In the wake of the global pandemic, the Dale City congregation held it’s first virtual worship service online on March 22, 2020
2021
Adrian Ayers (Vanessa) joined to serve as full-time minister
