Ministry Staff

Adrian Ayers

Preaching Minister

Adrian began full-time ministry in 2004 shortly after graduating from the Trinidad School of Preaching. He worked with the San Fernando Church of Christ, in Trinidad, till 2017. He studied Bible at Harding University from 2017 – 2021 and preached part-time during this period. 

Adrian holds a Bachelor of Arts in Bible and Divinity from Harding, where he graduated as the Most Outstanding Overall Bible Major. He is presently working toward a Master of Divinity from Harding School of Theology. He has served many churches throughout the Caribbean through gospel meetings, lectureships, seminars, youth ministry, radio, and television ministries. During his ministry in Trinidad, he taught at the Trinidad School of Preaching for 6 years. While studying at Harding, Adrian led short-mission trips and home Bible studies for Harding students. He also serves as the vice-chairman of Caribbean Lectureship’s Organizing Committee. 

Adrian has a passion for teaching God’s word and equipping God’s people. He and his family are originally from the island of Trinidad. He is married to Vanessa, and together they have three children, Jayelle, Ethan, and Kaydn.

Dessain Terry

Associate Minister

Dessain has preached since 1969 having served in several capacities including pulpit minister, evangelism school director, deacon of missions and board member of the Jamaica School of Preaching, campaign director, and traveling evangelist. He has worked in seven countries and traveled in over 20. He has authored several books and publications including How to Win Your Mate to Christ and The Concordance to the New Century Bible. He has helped edit The International Children’s Bible, The New Century Version of the Bible, and The Christian News of South Texas. He has spoken at various lectureships and workshops in the United States and overseas including the South Pacific Soul-Winning Workshop, National Jamaica Workshop, and Caribbean Lectureships.

He is a graduate of Oklahoma Christian University with additional work at Oklahoma City University, Central State University, Harding Preacher’s School Seminar, and University of Texas at Tyler.

He holds a Master’s degree from Western Connecticut State University. He has taught Speech courses Cameron University, management and time-management courses, and personal success courses. He is married to Stephanie, a free-lance editor for the major religious publishing houses and co-owner of BrightWomenBiz.org.

They have one adult daughter, Lauren, who lives in Virginia, where she has carved out a successful career in marketing and enjoys the vibrant culture of her city. Despite the distance, they maintain a close relationship, often visiting each other during holidays and family gatherings, sharing stories and experiences that strengthen their bond. Lauren also loves to bring her parents into her life, introducing them to her friends and inviting them to local events, showcasing the charm of her Virginia hometown.

Sergio Monroy

Spanish Preaching Minister

Sergio Monroy was born in Cali, Colombia, and raised in a Christian family. He is a second-generation servant of the Lord. His parents, Daniel Monroy and Sandra Zamora, serve as elders in the Church of Christ in Westchester, New York, and his older brother is also a minister in the same congregation. Sergio is married to Grecia Monroy, and together they are committed to serving God and His church. He holds a degree in Biblical Studies from the Instituto Teológico de Costa Rica, supported by the Churches of Christ in Tennessee. He is currently studying at the Georgia School of Theology, where he is completing his theological equivalency as part of his continued preparation for ministry.

In the secular field, Brother Sergio is a licensed attorney with a specialization in criminal law, having earned his law degree from the Cooperative University of Colombia, and he worked for one year as a legal advisor in a penitentiary, gaining valuable experience serving individuals within the justice system. In ministry, he served as a worship (song) minister in the Church of Christ in Bucaramanga, Colombia, from 2016 to 2020; in 2019 he also served as a missionary in Honduras, working with the Churches of Christ in Tegucigalpa and studying for one year at the Baxter Institute; and later served as a minister in the Church of Christ in Manida, Bronx, New York, from November 2021 through December 2023.

Brother Sergio is also actively involved in teaching and outreach, giving conferences for youth and encouraging them to grow spiritually and remain firm in their faith. He has a deep passion for evangelism and especially enjoys sharing the Gospel in the streets, reaching people where they are, and spreading the message of Christ with boldness and love. He is passionate about developing strong leaders for the service of God and strengthening the church, particularly within the Hispanic community. Looking ahead, he plans to pursue a Master’s degree in Ministry at Faulkner University, which has established an academic partnership with the Georgia School of Theology. He also continues to have a deep interest in the legal field and desires to serve others as a legal advisor, combining his professional training with his commitment to ministry.

Elders

Rufus Flemons

Rufus Flemons was appointed elder on October 11, 2009. Served as deacon from 2001-2009. He and his wife Anita (Gail) have been members of the Dale City Church of Christ since 1998.

They have 2 grown children (Steven and Traci) and 2 grandchildren (Olive and Elijah). Rufus served in the US Army for over 22 years and 20 years as a Department of Defense employee. Anita served over 23 years as an educator in Prince William County Public Schools. They are now retired and enjoy traveling.

Alfred Foxx

Alfred (Al) was born and raised in Fort Pierce, Florida. When he graduated from the University of Florida, he was commissioned, as an officer, into United States Army. He married Wanda Dickson in 1974.

They were blessed with three children; Kimberly who is working in Italy; Jonathan, who is married and living in California; and David who is living in Virginia. Al and Wanda have two grandchildren; Xavier and Riley who are living in California.

Al has retired and is enjoying his work with the church. Al was first appointed a deacon at Dale City in 2001. He was appointed an elder in 2018.

Rob Wilson

Rob was born in Fairmont, WVA and raised in Manassas, VA. He graduated from Fairmont State University. He went to work for the Prince William Service Authority from which he retired after 30 years of service in 2021. He married Lana in 1987. Rob and Lana have one child, Matthew.

Rob was first appointed a deacon at Dale City in 2005. He was appointed an elder in 2014.
